Foreign persons are generally barred from buying existing homes until 30 June 2029, with limited exceptions. The current restriction also covers temporary residents living in Australia. A permanent ban here would apply to foreign buyers living overseas, not Australian citizens abroad or purchases of newly built homes.

Self-funded and independent
AussieTally is self-funded because we believe Australians’ views should be easier to see and harder to misrepresent. We don’t receive outside funding, and we’ll be open about it if that changes.
