Your privacy
Updated 12 September 2026. This describes the fresh-launch AussieTally service.
What we collect
Your Australian mobile number is stored by our authentication provider, Supabase, and processed by Twilio to deliver sign-in codes. We also store your state, city/region, birth year, self-reported sex, eligibility declaration, account status and confirmed votes. A recovery email is optional.
We use essential session cookies to keep you signed in. Your unconfirmed answer may be held in this browser tab for up to an hour so you can return after verification. Hosting and authentication providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, request logs and security events. If enabled, Cloudflare Turnstile processes browser signals to prevent automated abuse.
What other people can see
Public results and downloads contain grouped counts. They do not contain your mobile number, email, birth year, profile or individual vote. We apply small-group protection to state, city, estimated age and sex breakdowns. Suggestions are reviewed before their question, context and source are made public.
Who can access private records
Votes use a topic-specific pseudonymous identifier. A separate restricted registry links an account to its vote to prevent duplicates. Authorised operators with privileged database access can connect those records. Your vote is private from other users; it is not untraceable to the service operator.
Supabase, Twilio, Vercel and, when enabled, Cloudflare process data to provide hosting, authentication and security. Processing locations depend on provider configuration and may include locations outside Australia. We do not sell your personal information or use recovery emails for marketing.
Changes, access and deletion
You can review your details, change your location when the 180-day interval permits, and add a recovery email in your account. Contact us for access requests, mobile changes, birth-year corrections, or deletion requests. We verify account ownership first. We explain any records retained for vote integrity, security or a legal obligation when handling a request.
Account and vote records are retained while the service operates unless a deletion request is processed. Public aggregate downloads may have been copied by others and cannot be recalled. Contact AussieTally about privacy or a complaint.
